YouTube has now released the ability to view closed captions on any video, even if they did not upload a transcript. This software is based on Google's speech recognition technologies.
It appears that the closed captions take either several minutes to appear after that video has been uploaded onto YouTube.

it just transcribed "aren't that accurate" as "are dead accurate". LLOOL

Nice try but the speech recognition software is not working. The captions do not translate the conversation accurately. Maybe a Wikipedia type solution would work better, where people can go in and make the captions themselves but with some security to avoid pranksters trying to be obscene or funny. Deaf people really need these captions since they cannot hear the audio.

On every video I try to do this to, I just get a "Captions are not available" message. What do I do? Anyone?
