This is beautiful, ingenious design! You could always paint the table top with some environmentally friendly varnish to protect it a bit. Thanks for the video, great stuff!

Only a very rough sketch, the first frame of video shows the parts pretty well. The trick is to make the parts out of 2 sheets of cardboard stuck together with the corrugation perpendicular to give lots of strength. Would love to see your results.
