The Amerton Railway held their Summer Steam Gala on 18th and 19 June 2011. An intensive timetable was in operation over the weekend. The weather was fine and the large number of visitors were rewarded with a number of Locomotives hauling both Passenger and Goods trains. The event was perfect in every way,and I would like to thank everyone at The Amerton Railway Organisers and Staff alike for all their hard work producing a great event.

  • nice job mate well done .and what a epic 20+ mins ;-)

  • @MegaCullie

Thank You. It was my first time at Amerton. Already looking forward to the next time.

  • Nice one Tommy, certainly looks well worth a visit. Narrow Guage Railways still have the sort of open friendliness that the 'big' railways had before they started taking themselves so seriously! 5*

Thanks Alan, You are so right about Narrow Guage Railways. They are incredibly friendly at Amerton. Everyone I spoke to only had positive things to say about the event and the railway itself. I will certainly be back first chance I get.

  • Excellent video Tommy and good to see you back filming again.5*.

  • @ConwyCastle

Thanks Shel, It sure is good to be back.

  • AndreiTupolev has a point, but well worth a couple of hours if you can. Only 30 minutes away from me so it's always a good standby together with Rudyard Lake and Foxfield.

  • @AndreiTupolev

It seems to be overlooked,I don't know why as it is an excellent little Railway.

  • Another line I've never heard of before. Having looked them up, they look to have an interesting fleet. Love the brake van.
