"God, is it that time of the month?" my throat burned like crazy. It was dry and my voice came out cracked. I looked at my calendar. Yep 2nd week of the month which means not only do my fangs come in but my period stars. Ironic huh? I lose blood then drink.
Kevin walked in and grabbed a bottle of water chugging it. "Hey," I said and shut the dusty century old book I was looking through.
"Hey," He turned and looked at me, "You have any throat medicine?"
"Um no, don't you?" He shook his head and grabbed a second bottle of water. "You okay?"
"Yeah it's just, my throat feels like it's on fire. It's so dry, ya know." Oh god. He has never been through a vampire state till now and with all these people around how am I suppose to keep him away from them.
"Uh, Kevin," he pulled his gaze from the floor to me, "This sounds crazy but-"
"Nothing will sound crazy, not with the week I have been having."
"You're going through a vampire state."
"What?"
"Once a month you're fangs will come in involuntarily and you'll have a thirst for blood. For girls it's scheduled with the period."
"Oh so am I going to eat people?"
"No, drink their blood. Demon blood is tainted but still drinkable. Like a drink a flat soda ya know." Selena walked in and waved head for the pantry. "What about animals."
"Yes, editable different taste so you have to find the animal you like best."
"How long does it last?" He looked at Selena and she sent a friendly smile.
"A week or so." he stood up and walked to the fridge. He grabbed the handle but dropped his hand. He turned and lunged at Selena. He was so fast I didn't know what happen until he was on top of Selena.
"GET OFF!" She screech and tried to wiggle out of his grip. He pushed her head into the floor, her neck was bared and I saw her main vein pulsing. Yes I was thirsty but no I was not going to eat my best friend or let the guy I love eat her. Or drink. WHATEVER!
His teeth bared and Selena kept pushing him back. I grabbed Kevin's waist and pulled on him. No use. He has never had blood so his thirst is strong make him invincible and extremely strong.
"Kevin get off her!" I tried to push him to the counter but he just shrugged me off.
"DanI! You're boyfriend is trying to eat me! This is not cool!" she pushed against his chest. He was struggling to get to her neck.
"STOP!" Everything frozen in place. I couldn't move my body. I looked up and saw Miki standing in the doorway. Her eyes were glowing a soft purple. She waved her arm towards and Kevin slid out from under me un freezing me and Selena. Kevin was still frozen in place teeth bared. Miki looked at me, "Go feed his thirst and don't bring him back until he is under control. He is old which means at a normal state his is stronger."
My arms wrapped around Kevin waist which was still frozen in mid air and orbed away.

"You okay? He bite you?" Selena swirled and brought her self up.
"Nah I'm fine." She grabbed a rice crispy treat and walked off.
They are advancing faster than I thought. It's good but could be very fatal as well. I have to keep them hidden. Just like my past. Just like everything I ran from.
