In the mid-1970's, Motown tried to buy into the market of quadraphonic sound which consisted of a 4-channel stereo surround sound system. In Japan, Motown released several albums and greatest hits collections including a greatest hits album on Diana Ross & The Supremes. The album consisted of alternate versions, vocals, and mixes of their hits which were never heard before. This version of "Love Is Here And Now You're Gone" was released on the album. It consists of an alternate mix of the song as well as two separate lead vocals by Diana with a noticeable flub left in the mix! The first lead starts at the beginning and lasts until 0:51 where she says "I don't...I don't like that..." Suddenly, a second lead vocal kicks in at 0:52 which lasts until the end of the song.

  • @macknick1

Probably the most interesting track from that album to get is "I'm Living IN Shame". Totally different to the released version.

  • Hey, great version. Have anymore from that album? Thanks for posting this.

  • 03/26/2011: Happy Birthday Diana Ross!!! I LOVE MOTOWN!

  • always more surprises from their endless magical voices. please post more would love to hear actual "speakiong parts" on the audio

  • that was a missed oppertunity to put this on the lost and found cd set - i'd of preferred this to any of the 'ross' solos pretending to be supemes cuts.
