Cannile - I agree with you. I hope that future videos will show more of the sales operation of distributors. We'd definitely like to make the public more aware of distributor operations in general. Beer distributors are not historically good at sharing info like that with the public and I think that needs to change.

I agree with you. If it wasn't for distributors, the Big Brewers (you know who they are) would completely dominate the beer business and there'd be no craft beer placements in stores. If people have an opinion to the contrary, I'd suggest that they go find out how many trucks their favorite craft brewer operates and how prepared they are to make their own deliveries and placements at retail.

Only been doing this for a year and a half, taking my road test to get my CDLs next month. I work in one of the smallest warehouses in the country. My driver and I manage 800 to 1000+ case days at least three days a week without any extra help. Some days I even get volunteered to stay and load trucks, sometimes leading to 14+ hour days. I don't think my job is as delightful as this video makes it seem, but I like it and has made me stronger as a person, mentally and physically.

I think that Sales does a great job, and that they are a very important part of the puzzle.

However, at the end of the day, if you want the beer to go from here to there, operations is the one that gets it done. We build the same relationships, and have just as much impact on the customer. If anyone deserves a little face time every now and then it is the men and women loading and driving the trucks.

For both a beer guy myself and a fan of ELO, this video is great. I've done just about everything in this video for the past 20 years, and no I don't have a pretty face, but this job has given me the great opportunity of meeting a lot of pretty faces. I do agree, however, that there wasn't enough time for the salesmen part, and they could have shown some of the guys and gals in the front office as well, but still a great video.

You should follow a sales person in on-premise sales, the video should show how important professional beer salesman are. Relationships are the most important, beer salesman can produce success.
