@1stMarineCapt sanctions are NEVER aimed at the regimes . the regimes only become strengthened (like sadaam ) . theyre designed as a weapon againt the people. EG pencils were banned under the "dual use" policy , along with anti-biotics. the reasons given were that anti-biotics could be converted for germ warfare , and they could extract graphite out of the pencils to coat jets to make them invisible to radar. AMBULANCES were banned cos they could transport troops

@olliephelan It was a heart breaking thing to do for those who's got a heart. Cause sanctions really works on these communists assholes but when it gets to the innocent people, it just break my fucking heart.
-
@olliephelan For some reason I cant PM you .
Can, you send me a PM , so I can elaborate without this 500 letter limit ?,
" whilst they cooperate with foreigners to kill their own people" (Q)......Are you referring there to the SAIGON govt cooperating with the USA in the killing of 2 million of their OWN people ?.
You see the USA didnt invade N VN. It invaded SOUTH VN .
The THIEU regime banned the free elections because HO would win.
Can ye send me a PM , please ?
-
@1stMarineCapt yes , of course . sanctions have destroyed the country worse than the war did . Thatcher (british pm) veteod india when it tried to send a gift of 100 water buffallo . She blocked the importation of baby milk powder . Thats how extreme the sanctions were .
those sanctions ended recently when VN accepted "free trade" and IMF loans .
thats wht things have chsanged , because jobs are now going to cheap VN sweatshops

@olliephelan So, you see, Communist lullaby people by what they call victory against Americans, but, when it came to the ruthless truth, they got nowhere to hide! Those who speaks against the Government, they granted treason, whilst they cooperate with foreigners to kill their own people, like how they sole the Spratty and the Paracel islands to the Chinese just so that chicom would aid them weapons to fight the south. It's dirty, it's stupid, and it breaks some hearts, for real.

@olliephelan N.Korea won't be that popular to the population of the country, I'll tell you what. There had been so many border crossing since the end of the war, where North Koreans tried to reach over to borders of South Korea. This is what happened to Vietnam as well, but in the few recent years the number had decreased, since our policies changed. They devastated to get to United States. Some of them who ever have a chance to come travelling in US try hard to illegally immigrated into US.

@1stMarineCapt Its FAR more complex, Since VN war , there has been DEVASTING sanctions . Usually only an authoritarian dictatorship can survive under these conditions (such as cuba / N korea) . So the regime is going to be harsh and athoritarian in order to survive .
Its not going to be a popular govt .
A few years ago , the regime decided to do what the US /UK etc wanted and they dropped socialism in favour of IMF loans .
Now the country is going to REALLY suffer

@olliephelan The problem is, most of the Vietnamese wants Americans. I met several kids in Saigon, Hue and even in Hanoi, and they said they want Americans to come back - they're sick and tired of these Communists bastards and all the dirty shits and stupid brain stuffing propaganda. These motherfuckers weren't even farmers - they might have been VC's intel sources or maybe more.
I can assure you, Vietnamese don't hate Americans, only Chinese collaboraters or Communists only.
-
@1stMarineCapt when they "hide AKs " and "pullem out at night to kill ye " , thats a PRETTY STRONG message that they dont want the US in their country .
if they were "farmers by day" and then "throat slitters at night" then thats an indication that even the average "joe soap" farmer was resisting the US invasion .
you hear that famous question "why are they trying to kill us if were here to help them ?"
nothing wrong with the answer .
Its just a deluded question .
he was a soldier in vietnam. and thank you waitingforever100 it was not an easy task. This war was very hard and hard to tell who was bad and who was good. if you were not there then you got no right to judge
