I connected my briggs&stratton starter motor to a 5 volt pc power supply. It runs well and is strong, but when I hit it with a pair of pliers, it gets stuck and sqeeks really loud.
Does anyone know why that happens?

Be careful, it is really loud and anoying with no sound in beetween the squeeks.

Also, you can see an ammeter showing about a 13 Amp draw.

I used new camera, with tripod.

  • the problem is that you hit it with a pair of pliers. If you don't hit it and leave it running on your desk it will be fine. You're welcome.

  • Its not that I need Help, I posted this (a long time ago) just because it was interesting...

And anyway, like any other shaft or rotor, impact should not make it jam up and squeek> Like a lawnmower.
