  • i've blown (4) of these subs... without even pushing them all in just 9 months of ownership. they sound great, but the reliability just isn't there. my first pair lasted about 5 months with pretty heavy useage. mackie (LOUD TECHNOLOGIES i should say) replaced them in a week because it would have taken 2 months to repair. my 2nd pair lasted only 2 months, on two gigs. the SRM450v2 i have are awesome, but the 1801 are garbage(from my experience). moving on to either KW181 or PRX618S-XLF

  • @QooleeKid1 i did not buy "pro coverage" but mackie will still hook me up within the 1st year right?

  • @QooleeKid1 how were you connection these

your conection could be the cause of blowing the speakers

  • enjoy it! just dont kill yourself :P

  • @greg0716... even when I turn the gain to -15db, they still clip! I'm still in the market for some new subs and the EV ELX are definitely on my mind.

  • @QooleeKid1 you should get the ev elx subs. they rock way harder than these and are reliable. ive also been through a few of the 1801's. turn down the master to -10db and you should be ok

  • @azepzz ... connected them exactly how it says in the user manual. if being used with SRM450/v2... XLR from mixer to 1801, XLR from 1801 to 450. so "Mackie" just barely got back to me saying that they're going to replace my subs, AGAIN. so i'm just going to sell them as soon as i get the new units

  • @azepzz

yeah within the first year... but keep in mind that if you go to authorized repair shops, you will be out of your sub for at least a month regardless. parts come from CHINA! all the other owners of Mackie subs, have blown them multiple times. sell them or get a refund before you're disappointed like many of us were. with a product like that, 1 year warranty simply isn't enough. can't beat QSC 6-year warranty or JBL 5-year
