Another wondeful example of what I call "concrete video", a mix between 'concrete music' and musical. Excerpted from Zatoichi (Kitano, 2003), the scene was choreographed and played by The Stripes.

  • This Zatoichi is a remake but apart from that, it is a Kitano Film. Kitano wants to make a new kind of Zatoichi that is innovative and not like the original. This movie is good since it has an original creativity into it despite being a remake. I don't think this movie can be compared to the original film since this movie can stand alone and different. I watched both the original and this remake and I love both. But keep in mind, this is Kitano's film, which is most often non-mainstream. :)

  • Magical moment :)

  • Kitano's Zatoichi is the best. No contest.

  • I love how the samurai wannabe's walking around in his gear, looking at the house and all ... ^^

  • not the real zatoichi

  • All it needs is a signpost with "Welcome to Kakariko" on it :D

  • Cool scene. Well balanced with the music, the camera pan to the dialouge. Somehow, I get that itch to ruin it by adding a Nextel chirp or a Nokia CF.

No wonder my film teacher hates me.

  • genius ! THATS PERFECT !
