Having met the Ukrainian Patriarch we were not impressed, as Orthodox Christians (non-Ukrainian) with his piety nor with his spiritual depth. One can sense this as the hierarch prays the Divine Liturgy. Nothing there but Ukrainian flag-waving..a nationalist movement wrapped in the Holy services. Just our private thoughts here...

Can you imagine this farce being attempted in Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Macedonia, etc...? Imagine the Constantinople and Moscow patriarchs attempting to preach to the Balkan nations about church unity at the expense of their autocephaly.
