I look at, and explain why the Damascus Document should be considered one of the most important writings a Christian can get their hands on. This is because it clearly shows Jesus, John the Baptist, the apostles of Christ and the early church congregation were all part of the sect known as the Essenes. This is evident in the fact much of what is taught in the writtings of the Essenes is found in the New Testament writings but not found in Old Testament writings.

The following is a link to a video of mine in which I look at prophecy found in the Dead Sea Scrolls that are spoken about in the New Testament but not written about in the Old Testament.

The following is link to a video of mine in which I look at the Damascus Document for the purpose of showing Jesus referenced the Damascus Document when he was confronted by the religious leaders trying to trap him doing work on the sabbath.

  • I still think you have it backwards =). i date the Damascus Document to approximately 36-43 AD, and written by the apostles.

  • @carlsonap16 There is no real concensus on the dating of the document. I know there are some who give it the date you do. But since there is no evidence to difinitively date the document I have to give it a earlier dating.

I don't believe there is anything in it that suggests Jesus had established his ministry. There is no mention of the kinds of miracles Jesus was doing. Nor is there mention of water baptism.

  • hi bro!!!tell me

defile the tempel,is the tempel the human body or do you mean building???

if you talk about the building,i dunnot find a sin about defiling the sanctuary, because we should worship good in spirit and truth, yeah fornication is a sin and wealth also but the third,i dunnot know the importance.

  • @s7pgo It is both. So fornication would be a diflement of our bodies and personal temple. taking part in the Lords supper when we have unforgiveness in our hearts defiles our temple and grieves the Holy Spirit. And it certainly is a sin to defile the sanctuary of God. For it is a earthly replica of what is in heaven. Sacrificing to idols would defile the santuary.

Zacharias was killed in the santuary. It was therefore defiled.

Turning it into a market place would defile it and would be a sin

  • Does the Dead Sea Scrolls say anything about the "Rapture"?

  • @101AnnJo No. At least not from the parts I've read. But I haven't yet read everything that makes up the Dead Sea Scrolls.

  • yeah you might be right if you mean the millenium temple built by Christ, the laws for the temple will last until the very end,but it is not for the church(building) as example.do you understand what i mean???

a bad example,if someone throw a stone to the third temple in the last tribulation, will God count it as a serious sin ?????or someone is again the temple the jews try to build,is it defiling the temple??

  • @TrustinJC the reason i date it when I do is because I identify the Teacher of Righteousness as the Messiah, and the Damascus Document says the Teacher came 390 years after Israel recovered from Nebuchadnezzar's attack. According to both my independent calculation and the Damascus Document then, the Teacher/Messiah of Righteousness was born in 13 BC. This means that the Damascus Document was written post 13 BC if my identification of the Teacher is correct.

  • @s7pgo according to Scripture, the laws for the temple will last until the very end. you seriously do err by going against God's word and rejecting HIs commandments.

  • @101AnnJo there is nothing in the Bible about the rapture. neither is there in any writing before the time of the protestants.

  • no i just thought you were referring to a building and not our body!!!!!everything you said is right.but it was in the past that defile a santuary(building) was bad but nowaday, defile the santuary is only in connection with the human body!!!!because after Christ,we are the temple of the living God!!!peace brother

  • Thanks.........
