Funnel Cloud Over Thornton Colorado 5-18-2011

This is a shot of a few funnel clouds that were trying to form just a little bit south and west of our apartment. I do apologize for them being dark...I was on the dark side of the storm.

I'm glad you took this video. We were chasing the storm through the area, basically keeping up with it on Tower Road. Your video confirms that there was a nice cone-funnel in the wall cloud for a while, which we could see (though it was difficult from our position to ascertain whether it was rotating or not). I wouldn't be surprised if there was a weak ground circulation with it somewhere.

I live in Sage Valley in the building at the bottom left corner of the screen. This was awesome to see for sure. Thanks for posting, my video is of another funnel near I-25.

Back at my old house (I lived on the beach basically) we got water spouts a lot :) but often times at the house i'm in now (in town) we have wind that picks up between the housing and we get leaves and stuff that swirl around, and sometimes in the summer we get sand and dust that form mini-tornados about 6-8 feet tall
