'Burmese Dreaming', a Burma documentary by Timothy Syrota, combines beautiful cinematography from inside Burma, a fully composed musical score, and a script written by refugees from Umpiem Mai refugee camp into a 'documentary poem'. Through the dreams, day dreams and nightmares of a refugee girl, 'Burmese Dreaming' provides a simple and compellingly humanist approach to the subject of life inside Burma under totalitarian rule. 'Burmese Dreaming' had its world premiere at the United Nations 'We the People's Documentary Festival' and it North American Premiere at the Buffalo-Niagara International Film Festival.
