Plastic bags were everywhere during Coastal Cleanup Day 2007 at Compton Creek...even hanging from trees.
Where did they come from? Us! Over 6 BILLION plastic bags are used in L.A. County each year, and only 5% get recycled. Instead, they become part of the plastic-dominated litter stream, putting added pressure on scarce landfill, fouling our public spaces, degrading already weakened watersheds and threatening marine life.

The video shows you guys picking up the "trash" with plastic bags. But, unlike the other bags, those who were in control disposed the bags correctly. Here's a though: Spend time educating the importance of recycling and reusing, not banning a product.
