@44studawg lol Nissans break down and don't last?
-
If the new F30 M3 powered by a V6 3.3 litre Bi-tubro, it might be a better machine. And if BMW put the liquid cooling turbo from M5 on the new M3, that will be a really push to other competitors.

There is a reason why Porsches cost more than Nissans. Porsches dont break down and they can last.

No one is going to argue the GT-R is not light. That said - despite the weight - the GT-R has broken record after record. The only Porsche record faster is the GT2RS of 7:18 at the NBR. Now - after watching the 2012 DBA GT-R shatter the Top Gear boards recently with a 1:17.8 lap - I have a feeling that there is in fact more left for them to squeeze out from their wettish 7:24:22 NBR test lap in April. How much more? I'm going to go out on a limb and say sub 7:20. So heavy or not - not too bad.

@vtknight777 not saying the gtr isn't a great car. i personally think nissan could've done a much better job. 1800+ kg is inexcusable for a 2+2 high performance machine that isn't compromised by luxury like a bentley continental or a mercedes SL-series. consider it's tremendous performance, and imagine what it could do with 300kg less :) i am a huge fan of nissans. i've driven r32 and r33 gtr, 180sx to s14/15s, 350z and own a 300zx TT. i think i'm just disappointed.

@nateo200 :(

@wideopen704 I heard it will be supercharged 450HP with a lighter body...
-
@nateo200 they will lighten it on the new 2014 model and put in a Supercharged Twin Turbo I6 with output of 450 hp. It will compete with the GT3.

@nateo200 good news my man, BMW is bringing back the 6 in the m3s. I just don't know what configuration they'll go for.
Maybe if BMW would keep the M3 lighter it would still be king...don't get me wrong I still love the e92 and would buy it over any car anyway just because I love ///M3s but M3 in my mind used to be this beastly light as hell underdog now it seams as if the m3 is never going to be light again.
