Inscription of Hope- NJ Honor Choir (2007)

Inscription of Hope sung by the New Jersey Elementary Honor Choir (2007).

Inscription of Hope was written by Z. Randall Stroope. But also by a victim of the Holocaust. This is the paragraph written about the text:

"The Holocaust is a stunning reminder of the tragic results of prejudice and hate towards other people. But it is also a reminder that hope held firm will eventually reign victorious over the greatest of odds. The following words [the lyrics to the song] were inscribed on the walls of a cellar in Cologne, Germany, where Jews were hiding from Nazis during World War II. Hope was all they had to hold on to; hope was their only bridge to a brighter tomorrow."

This performance was by the New Jersey Elementary Honor Choir of 2007. This NJ Honor Choir is an audition only choir. Over 300 children from all over NJ in grades 4-6 audition and only 150 get in (there is also a junior choir for grades 7-9). There is only one rehearsal with all of the chorus members before the concert which makes it very difficult. It was a lot of hard work but I think the product was amazing. This was one of our six pieces.

i sang this last year in 6th grade for large group comp. in choir and we ended up winnin the gold plaque(sp?) lol and we were the first 6th grade group in our state to go to large group and win the gold

I remember singing this in 6th grade. It's been a long time, but the lyrics recently popped into my head, and I cannot stop singing it. SOMEONE SHOULD SING THIS FOR THE HOLLYWOOD ROUND IN AMERICAN IDOL. TEARS WOULD SHED AND JAWS WOULD DROP.

I'm sorry but I personaly don't think elementary kids should do this song. Unless they have done many challenging songs before this.
