Slab Creek Reservior Floods Over The Dam

First time in 20 years its happened. Usually the water level sits about 20 feet below the lip - but after a week straight of torrential downpour the water level rose quickly. I almost tumbled off the edge of the cliff trying to get this video - I was hanging out over the edge trying to get a good shot. I wanted to climb onto the dam - but they had a very formidable set of fences and silent alarms.

Thanks for the info. the only person I talked to who could remember said they saw it happen in 1987. They said that that one was about 4 times the size of my video. Wish I could have been there to see it...

just went kayaking here june 24 2011 dam is still overflowing awesome place to go, just don't get hurt no ones gonna rescue you. Its pretty remote.
