  • Number 7 on my greatest Sci Fi movies of all time.

  • On New Year's day 2018, let's compare our world with the world depicted in this underrated film. Oh, the similarities!

  • @alonenjersey I can't remember if it's Comcast OnDemand or perhaps I had it on Spike, perhaps both, but it was like the helmets were shinier and the colors a bit brighter. Maybe I'm remembering wrong though, because it almost seems like the shirts are a different shade of orange than the helmets. I could just be remembering my vision of the helmets entirely wrong. If it's ever free OnDemand again I'll have to check and see.

This was on TCM New Year's Day 2010 I assume because of 2018 being soon

  • @88mphsss You're right about the God awful remake. I lasted 15 mins. before realizing how a bad it would be. As for quality, my copy on VHS from the mid or late 80's is as good as this.

  • @alonenjersey For me, any great science fiction story incoporates the social element of the future as envisioned by the writer, a social interaction that we now would consider strange, but for the story plausable. By fact as a science fiction story is written in the present, one can argue that it is a reflection of the current reality. It is satire, but not necessarily of a humoristic side but a moral one. Fingers brushing the face could indicate a sensual entrance towards further touching.

  • How come this movie is so much clearer on TV than on the DVD?

Is there a future DVD or Blu Ray release planned any time soon? I'm almost afraid to buy the oldass 1998 DVD for fear that they'll decide to release a better version the next day...but I'm having extreme withdrawals I haven't seen this in 3 years.

My god it is SO much better than the remake, which I saw first. Remake is the worst film ever, this 1975 Norman Jewison version is a masterpiece and in my top 25.

  • This is how people partied back in 2018.

  • I half expected Ron Jeremy to walk in at any moment.

  • Wish I could attend!!

  • VERY GLAMOUROUS PARTY,LAVISH HOME TOO!
