Dan, thanks so much for these videos. Without a doubt the most intimate, informative, professional and inspiring pen & ink videos on the net. From concept to completion, about how long would you say any given piece (such as the one in this video) takes you? Despite your long career and extensive experience, do you ever run into deadline issues due to client demand conflicting with the complexity of your piece? Thanks!
For the finished product, to to: "Finishing Touches"

Thanks, Skinflint. I think they take me about 15 hours, start to finish. I do occasionally run into deadline problems. That's what nighttime is for! Honestly, I haven't done a REAL all-nighter in years, but I have done plenty over the years. When we're really under the gun, I will sometimes ask an AD if this is the "real/drop dead deadline." I have learned that a WISE art director never tells the artist the REAL deadline but leaves a little padding just in case.

But to answer your serious question, Andy-- This is a Rapidograph pen, the work-horses of the technical pen world.
