Commemorative Air Force- Gulf Coast Wing starts at Hobby Airport- Houston, TX starts engine #4 for the first time in seven years on Jan. 17th, 2009. Sorry the volunteer starting in front of the shot didn't get the memo to NOT stand in front of the camera, but he moves soon enough. What is better is that NO METAL was found in the screen in the post run analysis. THREE MORE TO GO!

  • Damn,thats a loud radial

  • Loud is ALL four. I never hit the flight line without ear protection. If you should be able to make Thunder Over Michigan this year there should be 10 B17s!!!

  • YANKEE LADY is gorgeous. TEXAS RAIDERS is another Triangle L bomber. Do you know the story behind YL's 381st connection?

  • I stayed there until she flew away. My favorite ww2 plane. I hope she gets up where she belongs once again. and to those who make it happen,.. God Bless you all.

  • Thanks, I hear a number of stories back from the good old days. TR has quite a history of her own, apart from the Combat veterans she is meant to honor. Hope to see her fly at 2009 Wings Over Houston.

  • It is still a long shot for Airsho at Midalnd, TX on Oct. 9-11.

TEXAS RAIDERS should efinitely be at Wings Over Houston Oct 31-Nov. 1st.

The first wing extesnison got hung Sat. 6/27/09.

  • congratulations guy my bird used to be the Yankee Lady

  • back in 1990 while at 91-B school in Ft. Sam, San Antonio, I went to an air show, i think it was Kelly Air base, since I got there early and being military I was aloud to walk the flight line early that morning. My favorite photo is of myself standing under the plane. that was a great day .

  • I got to see this bird in 1996 in Evansville Ind. She was still flying then. Quite an honor.
