This is a recent example of a bi-weekly video series we developed for Sauce Restaurant & Lounge here in Victoria. Our primary aim is to inform, inspire and engage food and drink lovers about the breadth of other great local small businesses that make up this vibrant community. Our branding strategy was focused on bringing Sauce food into the forefront of the local food conversation and sourcing local products and suppliers was a vital component to building its success. The other essential factor was to remove the veil that had previously kept the owners and operators of this great local eatery from raising their profile as a food destination in the city - in fact, the two go hand in hand. In order to do it the owners had to face some misjudgments and missteps along the way while at the same time embrace the relationship building and transparency that is at the heart of social media proliferation since the advent of platforms such as Facebook and YouTube back in 2004-2005. This approach represents the "Personalize" and "Localize" components of our three-pillared approach to brand management and online content creation strategy. Having identified the honest and passionate story that had previously been obscured from view, we immediately integrated the third and final component of our mandate, "Socialize". With a thorough social media brand strategy that would help Sauce share their story effectively we were bale to drum up excitement with both staff and customers alike, resulting in greater visibility and brand awareness within our community. It should be noted that owners Steve, Dan and Gary really made this work a success. Without their positive outlook, passionate determination to challenge themselves by stepping outside of their comfort zone, they were able to provide both their business and their customers with the voice that both so desperately needed. Without their trust and excitement our work would have been left to nothing more than merely a great idea. This is what we call "The Transparent Agenda" and it's the principle that defines Designs 20/20. The life we seek to live and the work we love to do are never separated from one another. Thank you Sauce for allowing us into your home. We definitely feel like a part of the family.
