In a pastoral letter distributed to all United Church of Canada clergy, moderator David Giuliano explains why the UCC has launched a campaign to rebut the atheist bus ad campaign: "There probably is no God, so stop worrying and enjoy your life." In the course of his letter, he states: Clearly, as Christians, we most definitely believe there is a God. Gretta Vosper has strong words to say to both Giuliano and the Freethought Association, and she questions the value of an ethic as trivial as stop worrying and enjoy your life.

  • @westhillwebguy Thanks for sharing this vid.

  • Having recently discovered Gretta Vosper and of the handful of the life positions that she embodies, I do wish to share that I do respect Gretta for what she has placed on our kitchen table. Though the intent and wording of the Atheist bus campaign's original ad is relatively inclusive, gentle & quite benign, when compared to the ads from the various other communities, I do welcome Gretta's closing suggestion: "God or no god, get engaged in life. Or, we've all got something to worry about."

  • how can you have a church that fails to preach out against sin? i rmember when my pastor said that. a church should not exsist if it doesnt preach out against sin...

  • @GreenEarBuds i agree..... it may sound nice and cute to mock the God of the bible but it is appointed unto man ONCE to die then cometh the judgement...... these people hate the God of the bible.....

  • First of all, you must understand that in the last days mockers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.

    Psalm 1:1

How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

    Proverbs 3:34

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult. Whoever rebukes a wicked person incurs abuse. Do not rebuke a mocker or they will hate you. Rebuke a wise person and they will love you.

  • Worry is dibilitating as Jesus reminds us:"Don't be anxious"...it is entirely relevant and right for us to remind people that God relieves us of our worry precisely so we can act in love with courage

  • I like the last sentiment noted. The atheist bus campaign's message of 'don't worry' is directly solely on the matter of whether you are being watched and judged.

For many of us, part of 'enjoying' life involves trying to be productive and helpful. I doubt a hedonistic lifestyle is being implied.
