I had shot this time lapse quite a while ago, and I didn't upload it because the battery died early and I didn't get the whole sunrise.
But I can't help noticing that black line of clouds that trail through the skies before the dawn. This may be the "black thread of dawn" that is mentioned in the Qur'an when it talks of how to fast:
" ... Eat and drink until the white thread becomes distinct to you from the black thread of the dawn. Then resume the fast till nightfall ... " [Al-Qur'ân 2:187]
This sight is familiar to muslims around the world, who forsake their beds groggily at 5am or earlier, wash up, and respond to this call to prayer. It's a very peaceful, serene time of the day.
There's a spiritual feeling you feel, bowing down to worship God at this silent, peaceful time.
