Carl Owen battles a band of outlaws, a prairie fire, blizzards, a trackless waterless desert, and his own brother--all for the hand of feisty Ellen Bates. Author Marsha Ward introduces the Owen family and their neighbors in a book full of action, romance, and adventure.

  • Looks fantastic! Great job on the trailer.

  • Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Your Samoa video is terrific.

  • Great job! I was wondering: Is the music the type of music they'd be listening to back then? Looking forward to more.

  • Hi! Here's the thing. It was just after the Civil War. I don't know how many classical music concerts were going on in the Shenandoah Valley at that time. Probably very few, so the local music would be campfire songs, hymns, and folk songs. But doesn't the juxtaposition of Vivaldi and Ward work for you? [grin]

  • Thanks, Contraltissimo. I know you're very good at editing. I have a lot to learn, but I'm progressing a little at a time.

  • Thank you. I enjoy yours, even when I sound a little bit snarky.

  • Oh, that's awesome! I'm glad it made her happy.
