I like the old one better because in my opinion Tarja's voice was best at Oceanborn and Century Child. Just because Tuomas didn't want an opera voice anymore, they made this version. Which ruined the song.

reviving an old conversation here who found these on the internet if so what song was it cos im nosey :P btw mine was i found them on grooveshark i typed in gothic metal and phantom of the opera came up i listened to it and was like awesome then i started searching them up on youtube and listened to end of an era on here as well and now im hooked on nightwish old and new

@elvengarda I believe this video refers to the much less known slavic crusades by the hospitaller and tuetonic orders of knights. They brought christianity to areas like slovakia, finland etc and the tribes style of warfare was much the same as vikings. Some tribes did convert out of fear of the brutality the orders initially used, after that the rest were conquered much the same as american Indian tribes fought on both sides of early new world conflicts.

@MsSAKT i discovered Nightwish from youtube as well. i was looking for Nemo (movie) clips and found the song and i was like what the hell i'll listen, i'll never regret that decision.

@Evanescencefan967 same story starts here for me too. i heard this version on a shipwreck video and i got interested in it. i looked up the title and found the original, and got hooked to it. later on i listened to Over the Hills and Far Away, Wish I Had an Angel, Amaranth, Bye Bye Beautiful, and The Islander. i loved them all and i consider Nightwish a unique band with either Tarja or Anette.
