This is my home made elevator. It's 35"x 40" and travels up 10ft from my garage to the 1st floor. It has mechanical and electrical interlocks that prevent access to the shaft. It's based on a 1700lb rated capacity pneumatic forklift. It has battery backup and an emergency down button. It's under construction, I'll post the finished product. It looks and operates just like a commercial elevator but can be built entirely with easily available parts by a good handyman for about $5000 instead of $20,000!!! Need info email to kea_projects@yahoo.com

  • @natedogg5643 It's not very loud at all. You are right about the speed, and to fix that, make a traction elevator.

  • Someone needs a girlfriend!

  • To loud and to slow

  • make it from painted iron! it will work better... maybe some brushed steel doors and a door operator...

  • Does it have inner doors? If not, it's its time to have one! Very nice.

  • This is AWESOME!!!!!!

  • very cool!

  • did you really build it???
