Summer's Suprise

So as you guys know, I have a new pony named summer. She has been gaining tons of weight for really no reason. but in the back of my mind, i was betting my life on it, that she was pregnant =] i know! amazing huh, but she's new, and maybe its the food, or not enough excersize. But i called the vet just in case. the vet gave me two choices, an anal ultra sound, or a blood test and i'll know in a week or so. I asked him what the costs were and they were about the same so i said the ultra sound, so we sedated her because she's rather small and his arm is rather large, lol poor baby. and i'm holding summer and my boyfriend is behind the vet with his helper, and i see all 3 grin, and i'm like soo?!?! and the vet looked at me and said Congrats! your baby is going to be a mommy! omg i was so happy, that made my day!!! to finially know, so since then the vets been back every 2 months to give her shots and updates. and She's doing amazing. I can't wait to see what he or she looks like, if its a girl her name is going to be Dixie's Summer Miracle aka Mira, and if its a boy his name is going to be Two Eyed Bandit, Each name has to do with my first horse who passed away in Feb of 08. Her name was Two Eyed Hotstuff aka Dixie. So if i really want a miracle it will come out looking like a brown and white paint =]

one mare at my school, she had been bred and then checked the semester before i got there, well, last september my class ultrasounded her and the vet said she was about 5 months pregnant.... She just had the foal about a month or so ago.....a lovely colt

well congratz. my mare just had a beautiful filly on feb 9th. its an amazing thing to experience. you waitt 11 months to see the foal now i have to wait about 3 years to start training hahah its just one big waiting game it sucks~ ahahahaha

did you breed her or did u just get her like that cuz she had to have bred to get pregnat but she seems like a lolvey mare congrats :]

yeh she wasn't bred on purpose. and not by me. She was put out with a 2 year old colt, and the old owners didn't know starting at 6 months a horse can breed..so, we bought her and she started getting fatter..so we called the vet and here we are now.

i know your mare has already had her foal but congratulations. one of the mares at our barn is going to have a foal but the sad thing is she is already 9 months and still hasnt had her foal. i hope it ok it would be heart breaking if somthing goes wrong
