  • Nice story, great tune.

    RIP John Winston Lennon 10/09/1940-12/08/1980

  • Interesting. I didn't know "Bad To Me" was written in Barcelona, at Epstein's behest. Lennon's tendency for pleasing Brian in "liitle" things like this suggest that he was both grateful to, and fond of Brian. But -unsure as to how to deal with Brian's rapport for him- uneasy to show it. So he resorted to giving Brian a hard time, to be tough, while at the same time giving in to his requests, where he could. Brian must have quietly noticed this contradiction -and understood that John meant well!

  • Billy J Kramer is my nans 1st Cousin :) x

  • Very interesting and telling; history here from the guy that was around when the Beatles hit it big, very, very big.

  • Everyone who used to deal with Beatles looks proud no matter how intense it was, so they happilly tell almost the details from it... They're blessed..

  • I love The Beatles Check out The Beatle songs I love to sing !

  • @Merseyrock glad we cleared that up. theres a BBC documentary called 'Songs The Beatles gave away" that talks about extra songs they wrote and gave to other musicians/ bands with commentary by The Beatles and the other musicians the songs were given to as well as clips of each by the artists each song was given to. that's how I know. as for Epstein, there are small bits of factual info about him, but mostly memories and rumors, so I agree its best not to spread rumors or assume things.

  • @4FabBEATLES Thanks! for commenting. I didn't know this to be partly the origin for many of the extra songs that they wrote. When speaking of Brian and John's "relationship," I did not mean to suggest any personal involvement as such - that would be purely speculative, I agree, without any proof. I was making an observation on their interaction from a psychological standpoint, given the apparent strain between them, as reported. It is good that you brought this up, so that I could clarify...

  • @Merseyrock the Beatles said the reason they wrote extra songs for other bands and people was because they loved songwriting, they thought it was fun back then, and helping out a friends/ group they admired. There has never been any proof Epstein and any relationship toward the Beatles other than manager to band. professional. The Beatles tried to please Epstein because they owed it to him after he got them a record contract and media attention- he was their boss too in a way so they listend

  • @porridgeeveryday John told him to have the J in his name

  • wow j in his name, genius idea.

  • Thx for putting this up, really great. I was there when it was happening. Nice Memories.
