Very good explanation on how to differentiate the 2 conditions. One thing they do have in common is related to muscle imbalance very often from the hips and pelvis. I share a video on my channel how to treat sciatica quickly and help out the piriformis. PhysicalTherapyTV
how about groin pain and pudental nerve entrapment - can this have anything to do with what you are talking about? This is what I believe I have with problems sitting. ???
I have pain when I do both. I was hoping it was only piriformis and not a disc problem but now I am worried. I have had problems since early June. It started in right Lumbar area and lately has been only in my right gluteus area and down to my right knee. I rolled around on a bocce ball which brought temporary relief. Now, the pain is back into my right lower back and butt at the same time. I have no health insurance. I'm 26 years old, in great shape, and i dont know how I even got this.
On the first test I feel pain on the calf area. Is it sciatica or just a short muscle?

Thanks...looks like I probably don't have sciatica from a disc issue. :)
