I used to live right off East Lime Street in downtown Lakeland from 1998-2008 and it really isn't that bad. A lot of people give Lakeland a bad rating but I guess that's everywhere you go. And as the guy below me said, you're within walking distance of the Lakeland Library, Munn Park, the downtown area, the lakes/parks and very close to the city terminal.
ahhhh that damn train, I hate goin threw the down town area and getting caught at the light because of it, it's sooooo loud too... but Lakeland is, by far one of the most beautiful towns...
Thanks for the video. I always liked Lakeland. Well at least the size of it and the fact it is a fairly self sufficient smaller city. Its pretty with the parks and lakes and the walkable downtown. It gets so many terrible reviews from people though, and Im not always sure why. It's a shame though the High Speed Rail that would have had several stops in the area, connecting it to Tampa and Orlando will not be built.
If I had to live in Lakeland, I'd live downtown. Somewhere near Lake Morton preferably. You're within walking distance of everything good downtown has to offer. Munn Park, the library, and the Polk Theatre.
