Yeah, strategy for attacking the Mongols is:

1) Try not to engage them out in the open. With their horse archers and Mongol lancers, you will risk destroying your army unless you can match theirs.

2) Fight a defensive battle. That means bridge defense and castle siege warfare.

3) Gunpowder weapons and lots of long-range missile troops. Mortars and pavise crossbowmen are preferred because they can fire long range and over castle wall if necessary.

4) Never engage the Mongols alone, get other factions, including your enemies, involved. That means establish good relations with the papal state and call on a crusade against the Mongols. You basically send waves of catholic armies to get their hands dirty with the Mongols.

I love doing that, though if you know what to do there is no need. It does alaways help, though. Actually if you can get your Arabic enemies to Jihaad, that is all the better.

Well if you can beat there Horse archers, it is easy to stop them.

Defensive, I agree.

Gunpowder does help, but I find in an open battle that many archers with stakes really massacre them.

I always play with the Turks and they are my nightmare... :( Once I gave a city to Timurids because they are Turk too so I think we can make peace. But guess what did they do? They atack my other cities and i couldnt stop their elephants with my mounted archers... :/

Well they and the Timurids are nigh unstoppable in the open battlefield. Train assassins to kill their family members. Fortify your castles with fully stacked armies. Play the Mongols and Timurids against each other. Isolate them financially by building a mighty fleet and blockading their ports. Don't face them in open terrain unless you have overwhelming numerical superiority. Otherwise good luck to you.

my best strategy is hold the mongols until the timurids come and they both end up fighting so much they end up crippled

i have prepared about 20,000 hungarians but i was still defeated in the east with my russian ally

@TheGames754 I found the problem it is becouse i have put all nations in play and not only five(spain, england, france,venecie,hre) so i have reinstaled the game and now it works

@TheLegion97 I think theres somthing wrong with your event thing check it and see if its there if not reinstall hope this helps

help i have played and with england and sicily 100 turns and mongols are not invading
