I would have loved it if the Carnival Triumph would have honked back, though we did hear while backing up that this ship has a kind of lame single-note horn. Anyhow, it's a decent recording of my Tyfon collection, and the only time I've blown the A-200, A-300 and 425 together. They blow D#, G# and C respectively, which makes a G# major chord (with the C note an octave below the usual triad position).

  • One Short Blast: When two vessels are in sight of each other and you wish to signal you are alternating your course to starboard..

Two Short Blasts: (International Rule 34) When two vessels are in sight of each other and you wish to signal you are alternating your course to port..

The captain probably thought there was another boat nearby, potentially creating a dangerous situation. You probably caused a bit of a panic on the bridge of that ship.

  • I would seriously love to mount something like this on top of my Baja :)

  • Hmm MIDI air horns, what an idea

  • First of all, cool! Also, it would be AWESOME if you had someone build a valve that varies the flow of air into the horn, and then an electronic (or mechanical) system that takes musical notes and varies the airflow accordingly so that you could play a small keyboard and have the horn play the notes! MIDI technology would be great for that!

  • @baileylcdyb yeah, and we watch it for free @ youtube

  • Boat got owned!

  • I bet if ships had "brake lights" you would see those things light up on that cruise ship when you souded off the AE-300 and the 425DVE.... The Captain must be asking the guys at the wheel house where that ship horn is coming from...Great video Adam!

  • If only the 425 sounded one half step lower, then you could have a nice minor chord :)

  • the captian probably had no idea what to think
