Continuing on the theme of prosperity. I've shown you so far that the Bible teaches that God has promised to prosper us. That God swore an oath to Abraham and that part of that promise was that he would give Abraham and his descendants power to get wealth. At this point some people say yes Greg but those promises have nothing to do with the Christian. So in these next two lessons I want to show you that the promises God made to Abraham and his descendants belong to us.

  • thanks. i refused to believe that god wanted us to be poor. it s good to know you.

  • @zxcvbnm103 So when Jesus says Blessed are the poor… what he means is that something good happens to them, they receiving a blessing, they are blessed. Why? In this particular context what Jesus is saying is that they , the poor, get blessed because they've come to listen to him. The poor came to listen to Jesus because they had no other hope and so he says, you're the ones who are going to get the blessing. In contrast the rich didn't come because they didn't need anything.

  • @zxcvbnm103 I didn't think you were being a smart alec, I was just trying to lead you to find the answer yourself. We've sort of over spiritualized the word blessed in these scriptures; so that we read 'blessed" to mean something like 'holy' or 'saintly' or 'special' or 'pleasing to God,' but blessed doesn't mean that. The Theological Wordbook of The Old Testament Vol. 1 page 132 says this: To bless in the OT means to " …endue with power for success, prosperity, fecundity, logeivity etc.…"

  • @goyomarquez

What do you think it means? I'm not trying to be a smart alec, I just want to know. I've seen almost all of your videos and I think you make a lot more sense than the rest of churchianty. But scriptures like that are really difficult to harmonize.

  • Thank you for this message.

  • I looked up the word establish on the dictionary.Establish can mean to be valid or true.So he made them rich so he can prove his covenant with the people of Abraham aka those with faith in CHrist.
