Bennett is the man! The best 3rd down/hands/end zone receiver on the team now. Roy Williams should not be a concern - once real games begin, Roy is like a 3rd or 4th option.
Earl can burn any defense - look what he did to the Packers at the end of the Title game.
Im glad the other recievers do not like that roy williams is in there. It will push them to get better. Knox or any of those guys are not themselves a ligit WR corps minus Bennett at times. I do not like knox because he gets pushed around by DBs
I love ya Roy, but there is too much talk about a Wr drop. Chicago needs to give this guy a shot because if Roy plays well this team is better, that's the bottom line. People need to chill. The book is far from closed, it is preseason and he is a vet, let's give the guy a shot. Him totally failing in Dallas he put up equal numbers to Earl Bennett. If he sucks when it matters then do away with him, but at this point that is ridiculous. People need to get behind him.
RW has one good year, on an offense that was forced to throw all day due to no running game, no depth at WR and constantly playing behind. Should JA go after Furrey as well seeing as they WERE the Lions pass offense that season? Seriously it was five years ago, I don't give toss about William's familiarity with Martz's system, the reason why Todd Collins was brought in was down to Martz wanting someone in who understood the system. Familiarity counts for nothing if the talent is'nt present.
as a Roy W hater, antics & degraded Dallas player, I understand we didn't bring him in to shine in preseason. We know what he can do. The main reason we signed Williams over other WRs was his familiarity w/Martz's system, but still, hardly any offseason + missing the 1st week in camp hurt. So this preseason is pretty much just getting Roy up to speed and better acquainted w/Cutler. Aside from that, Martz utilizes a ton of single back / 3 & 4 WR sets so we'll see plenty of Knox & bennett anyway..
1. Bennett
2. Williams
3. Knox
4. Sanzenbacher-slot

Bottom line right now on Bears receivers:
Bennett is the man! The best 3rd down/hands/end zone receiver on the team now. Roy Williams should not be a concern - once real games begin, Roy is like a 3rd or 4th option.
Earl can burn any defense - look what he did to the Packers at the end of the Title game.
