This is The Clean Live at Sammy's in Dunedin from 1989. The sound on the songs from this gig isn't that great, so I figure its best to upload songs with not much lyrics.
I like to think the animosity between Aussies and Kiwis is mainly in the realm of sport, and rightly so. With music we seem a lot more unified. I'd walk 50 miles across the Simpson Desert just to see The Clean!
@blairomatic That was a nasty little comment I made. I was just trying to perpetuate the perceived animosity between aussies and kiwis. It's not funny.
I remember when I was living in NZ in 1989/90 the Labour govt tried to get a local music quota applied to commercial radio, similar to a very successful one they had up and running in Oz.
I'll never forget the campaign against it. Their basic argument was 'there is no NZ music good enough to play on our radio programs - well, certainly not enough to fill 15 % of our playlists'.
Things have changed in NZ now, the local music scene gets decent support from radio, no?
@1glib1 You're forgiven.
