This is the second part of the ride on service no. 59 in Budapest.

In this part we really start climbing upwards. After a few hundret meters the tracks leave the street and go up the hill pretty steeply.

Watch the other track! In the stations you will see a lot of sand between the rails, which is due to the Tatra trams sanding automatically to increase braking capability.

The last station in this part is "Farkasréti Temetö, Föbejárat", which is the main entrace for the Farkasrét cemetery.

  • Did you know this tram was made in former Czechoslovakia? I´ve seen lots of these types are still in service in Budapest :-)

  • These trams were made by CKD Praha in Czechoslovakia specifically for the BKV-Budapest. The BKV get 322 cars of these type between 1978 - 1984.
