I object to collecting orchids from the wild, however, more has been destroyed by development than those that are collected. I don't think the word "stealing" applies here. I definitely agree that they need to make it well known that they are easily purchased for a reasonable price from oak hill gardens and others. Oak hill gardens is a great company and I have been ordering from then for over 30 years.

oak hill gardens in Illinois sells tissue cultured ghost orchids for like 10 or 12 bucks a piece. they sell them at the redland orchid festival every year in miami but you can mail order them as well. at prices like that no one should be poaching them anymore.

You can BUY this orchid. I think it is so stupid that people steal these from the wild when you can just hop online and order some, and they aren't any more expensive than any other orchid. I hope you tell people that.

Why dont they put them in tissue culture on try to obtaine seeds , so they wont have to worry about it becoming extinct.
