  • What a beautiful sound I could listen to this over and over; this and your "Sweet Leilani". You could hammer on a tin can and make it sound good.

  • Thank you Mr. Intormentis !! It's comments like this that make the travelling a few THOUSAND miles to play for 40 minutes worthwhile..Pat and I much rather play for longer, that's why we are not seen at the HSGA or Aloha International conventions. Paying upwards of $5,000 to play for 20 minutes isn't our sole intent in life..In all fairness Rene and Nora treated us with great kindness, AND we got to play for almost an hour altogether.

  • Very lovely playing Baz & Pat, sheer

magic!!!! Lovely to see theFender 400.........

Truly a beautiful looking instrument. Mahalo nui loa..Brian Sach...

  • Brian, thank you. It is actually a Fender 1000, the one I did all my EMI Abbey Road Recordings with in the mid 60's.

  • I love this player, and how and what he plays. Bobbe Seymour

  • Yes, you are correct..I use my thumb also when I play regular guitar.

4:20 shows pat's use of the thumb for most of her chords.. according to "the Book" that's incorrect but I've also seen some of the great jazz guitarists using this method..

  • @basilhenriques I'm sure I remember seeing Chet Atkins wrap his thumb around to play the E string; maybe Merle Travis too. This was a great video.

  • Well it's not the same guitar but the same model, this is one i rescued and restored to health, then sold to musical exchanges and basil got it back when he came over from Ireland.

  • Gigs permitting we'd love to come, where is the celebration going to be held ?

Mahalo Nui loa for your Kokua

  • It's more tha a year that you have visitted the Netherlands, Basil. Everytime Nora and I enjoy of your fabulous Steel guitar play. We cannot get enough of your awesome play on the steel with the accompanied of your sophisticated lady on the rythme guitar, Patricia. Are you coming again to Holland on the 3rd of August to play on my 65th Birthday? Bernard Glorian from France is coming too.

  • Yes, a little more of Blue Hawaii and a little less of the audience !!

I'll do Blue Hawaii in full later.
