  • I just had two surgerys becouse tumors made my right knee turn in and that triggered my ankle to do the same and i had a plate and 2 screws put in my knee and a pin in my ankle, i had this surgery yesterday. and am off school for a while

  • I wish you a great recovery. I am sorry to hear you just had this surgery but you'll see that at the end it is worth it. God bless!

  • oh man I hate having this

  • I understand it is hard but you can use your voice to help others who suffer this condition on how to make the best of your life, even if you are in pain. You can post videos of your adventures, fun times with family, even if these happen at hospitals. Find those around you how want to make you live to the fullest and EMBRACE who you are and what you can do. Best wishes!!!

  • Are you doing ok? I understand this is a very painful condition and I hope you are well taken care of and not suffering. Take care

  • I'm currently 18 years old and feel like I'm an old lady! :D

  • I also have MHE. I've already had surgery MANY times, basically all in my joints since I was little, it really does hurt. My one leg is now shorter than the other and a hole in my ankle. I hate that mine grow in most of my joints. I still need more surgeries, ever since I was 13 I've been legally disabled and 4"9 (stunned growth). I'm not even sure if I can have a family of my own since they say my condition will most likely be inherited to my kids. I don't want them to have this..

  • I have this too. I had surgery every year for five years since I was in first grade cause the bones kept growing on my knees and my ankle area and it hurt real bad. Luckily now that I stopped growing, so did these stupid bones. I'm not going to have any kids because I don't want them to go through what I did.

  • yay for debilitating diseases! .......yeah right....

  • i hate (hate!) having this!! i just learnt abour the cancer and am kinda freaked :/ im scared for my surgery which wll be my first of hopefully only 2 and then i wont have any more pain as it does really burn :(

  • Hi,

My son was diagnosed with multiple exostoses when he was two. Recently they found he was mis-diagnosed and has a condition called Metachondromatosis. X-rays showed that I had this also but had no idea, wondered what the small lump under my eye was. some are quite visible on my son and he has a large one on his ankle.

    Is anyone familiiar with Metachondromatosis?

  • This disease has left me in endless pain it sucks... I've had 4 surgeries so far and need another 5.

  • I have this, but my consultant calls it a ''cosmetic condition'' as although I do have alot of growths I have the surgeries because I find the growths unsightly to look at. Although pain is there, and it does hurt during winter and well.. whenever the weather changes i'm learning to live with it. I'm 16 and apparently I might not need anymore operations. :) Thankyou for putting this up, it's nice to see I can relate to others.
