I'm pretty sure I saw some HDMI specs saying that it can also be used to power devices. This way when connecting to a HDTV, it would be powered and maybe even get charged while playing the HD videos to the HDTV.. It might require a HDMI 1.4 compliant HDTV and device, dunno.
