Well, K1 is more interesting because fights are short, and there's no way to hide. No groundfight, no clinching, passivity being reason for a yellow card...
That way agression and intense fighting is rewarded.
Watanabe is a clown who can't fight. But that's good. All fight sports enthousiasts will want to see him get beat up, and watch the fight. Most casual K1 fans will want to see him play around, and watch the fight. In both cases, showing clowns like Watanabe or Bob Sapp, is rewarding.
