Haitians are fleeing their quake-ravaged capital by the hundreds of thousands, as government officials vow to move them from squalid conditions into safer, cleaner tent cities.

Aid officials said more than 130,000 Haitians have crammed into buses, provided by the government, to escape the shattered capital Port-au-Prince.

More than 150,000 people have been confirmed dead in the Port-au-Prince area alone following Haiti's devastating earthquake.

Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports on the journey out of Port-au-Prince, home to 600,000 people living in makeshift tents and temporary shelters. [January, 25, 2010]
