Apollo 11 Truth or Fiction_Flag

16mm Film of the Apollo 11 Landing showing the flag placed by Armstrong and Aldrin. Many people claim that the Apollo program was faked by NASA and the US Government. The flag has been one of the hoax arguments, so I am presenting the better quality film version of the event. Decide for yourself whether this is fact or fiction.

What did I see? Blister Hiker has put it very well. I see a flag swinging like a pendulum for quite some time -- far longer than it would have done in earth's atmosphere. Then I see it solid as a rock for what must have been several minutes of film time.

Isn't that what you saw?

You are very uncommitted in these videos, not making it clear whether you post these in the hopes that somebody will tell you what's wrong with them, or because you know they are evidence of Apollo's authenticity.

@Astrobrant2 Thanks. The evidence is clear that the flag does not move after the initial momentum is lost. Even the astronaut passing close by does not disturb it, clearly indicating that this is taking place in a vacuum. I prefer the 16mm film, but I also have another video with the video&film presented side by side to confirm that both are authentic as presented. I respect BlisterHiker's comments, and yours, and simply wish that rational minds would seek out the truth as I did.

@cliffspc "wish that rational minds would seek out the truth as I did." That's a fine attitude for someone who doesn't know the relevant facts or how to evaluate claims against NASA. Some of us, though, have known the truth for several decades and have been able to debunk just about every claim made by hoax nuts.

I enjoyed your syncronization of the 16mm and video. The film, of course, shows the absence of the video artifacts. Nice job.

@Astrobrant2 Good point. However, researching it myself was ultimately the most effective means to get to the bottom of the debate, imho. It was later that I looked at your debunks (and others) which gave credence to what I found myself. I am not an astrophysicist or scientist, but it was illogical to find anything wrong with the data at NASA. I am a 'humble convert'. Also a respected admirer of Armstrong as a pilot. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I look forward to your next video!

@Astrobrant2 btw, I was 2-1/2 years old when Armstrong took his first step on the moon. 'Small step' indeed!

@cliffspc Actually, after the pole was set up neither man passed very close to the flag, except on the pole side which would not have had much affect on the flag, if any. Your video is sped up in such a way that a viewer is left with the impression that each pass would have sent a gust of air toward the flag, when in fat the men were moving slowly and would not have disturbed the air to any significant degree. The video is inconclusive.

@bolognadetector Your comments are valid, however the fact remains that the flag does not move after the initial momentum is lost. The speed increase was not intended to give the impression that the astronauts were moving faster, but I can see your point that it does distort the true speed of the movement.

If wire supports were used, why couldn't they just simply pull the astronauts higher?

3. Motion of kicked dust clearly confirms presence of vacuum and low gravity. It's not easy to verify it in sped up footage, as here at 1:10, but it's obvious when watching videos from lunar EVAs at normal speed.

Conclusion: Apollo 11 went to the Moon, just like Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17.

There is nothing that conspiracy theorists can do about that, so they try to bash that great achievement with all possible lies and speculations, sometimes even contradicting themselves (!)
