  • Tobacco, Alcohol and petroleum, three of the most inelastic economic goods.

Doubling the price of tobacco or alcohol through taxation have minimal effects on their consumption. Regulation (eg - banning smoking in public places) is the most effective way to reduce consumption of inelastic goods.

Trading exotic carbon credits may please wall street, but wont reduce carbon emissions - only direct and forceful regulation will.

  • Daniel J Weiss is a corporate whore trying to get the American People to shoulder the burden and make the Mega rich RICHER.

I'm all for lower emission car. I got the cash for clunkers, I'm for putting up solar on my house, $30,000 cost. I'm for reducing C02.

I am not for setting up a NEW gambling Casino- Trading Offsets that will be another tax that will make it impossible for me to do anything to lower Co2.

This guy is a liar. Daphene is more reasonable.

  • @Codger45caliber - They don't? Finally, I've been waiting for someone to have solid, unbiased proof people don't want to mitigate global warming, and moreover, they especially don't want the state to do it. Thanks! Can I have your data so I can show my friends??? I'll finally be able to prove them wrong!

  • threats of possibilities = Fear mongering

  • It never fails to amaze me just how barren of a legitimate argument and brazen these people are in their willfulness to foist something that the American people OVERWHELMINGLY do not want.

I really don't think these people understand that they are pushing this country into the next civil war.

  • for sure Antiks, thank god

  • @AbtinX At least you have a social safety net.

  • @Codger45caliber speak for yourself you conservative dreg.

  • "this crisis is so urgent". These people sound like alarmists and fearmongerers. US citizens are not interested in government expansion or the expansion of EPA's power and authority to tax, fine, and regulate.

  • these three are gonna go fuck after this show

  • The philosophy of thieves; steal what you can now without being caught and come back another day to steal the rest. Paul Jay advocates stealing, and TRNN is his podium. Just say no to Jay and to stealing.

  • I hear you, I live in Sweden and it's the same. No jobs anywhere
