Wow, bad research back then. Kevin Carter never set foot in Vietnam in his entire life. He was born in 1960, the Vietnam War ended in 1975, when he was only 15. He famously won a Pulitzer Prize for a photo taken by him while covering the Sudanese Famine, it was of a young Sudanese girl curled up on the ground while a vulture stands nearby watching her. He also worked during the last few bloody years of apartheid in his homeland of South Africa covering the firefights.
