Beck: You have no rights, unless God says so

Glenn Beck says you have no rights unless they come from God. The Bill of Rights is meaningless I guess, along with the Constitution *snark. Beck says "God" gives out the rights. Who interprets a God? Beck?

There are no final solutions , there is no absolute truth, there is no supreme leader, there is no totalitarian solution, that says that if you will just give up your freedom of inquiry, if you simply abandon your critical faculties, the world of idiotic bliss can be yours. You may lose the faculties, you may not know as a result, that the idiotic bliss is even more idiotic than it looks.

Well it is fairly obvious why he doesn't believe education should be a right, because educated people overwhelming reject religion. Education teaches critical thinking, and the need to base your belief on evidence.

Religion teaches that you should believe it because it says so and if you don't believe it you get punished in some way. They can't show you evidence so they just threaten you.

So what if the soviet constitution had education as a right. Americans are so obsessed with socialism.

Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages.

Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups.
