Maurice Allen, the multi-sport athlete and Olympic caliber sprinter turned golf phenom, is shown on NBC News in Atlanta repeatedly and consistently hitting golf balls in excess of 450 yards as straight as arrows off the tee. Allen, who has been besieged by golf greats to join the PGA tour, has decided to first pursue his dream of dominating the Long Drive Tour and etching his name in the Guinness Book of World Records FOR A SECOND TIME by recording the longest drive in history. Allen has already written his name in the history books once for recording the fastest clubhead speed in history with an astounding 161.92 MPH. For perspective, the top PGA tour pros have swing speeds in the neighborhood of 110 MPH. For you trivia buffs out there, yet another astounding distinction of Allen's is that he's the first ever U.S. Olympic Trials Track & Field Qualifier to earn a berth in the World Long Drive Championships.
I live around the same area as Maurice and I've seen him a few times, while I'm not going to say he's a golf phenom....he is a long drive phenom. For someone to first pick a golf club up in 2010 as a bet and a year later be hitting the ball 400+......you have to be very talented. Give him another few years to hone his skills and get better at the competitions and he will eventually win a big long drive contest......hell he's only 2 years into GOLF people, give the guy a chance!!

Hey Maurice, congrats on your amazing performance at the Worlds. Out in two straight rounds, 20 yards behind in round 1 and 30 behind in round 2. I thought you were the fastest in the world what happened? Heck a 55 yr old outdrove you by 20 yards!
