I think it sounds great plugged or unplugged. People comment on the distinct sound quite often when I play unplugged.

This guitar's real strength is in its pickup. I'm not too impressed with its unplugged sound, but when it's plugged in, it sounds like a plugged-in acoustic guitar should sound.

I have played 3 of these at two different Guitar Centers and was very disappointed at the unplugged tone. They all sounded as if they were stuffed with cotton.
