Practice pulls, altimeter checks, and he pulled at the right altitude. That is a successful AFF level one you butt sniffer!

line twists on a student canopy shouldn't be a cutaway - more like do what you are trained to do!!!!!

I assume the instructors pulled the bag out? I hear debates all the time on whether to a cutaway or just a reserve pull

@mjh120 student pilot chutes generally don't collapse anyway, in other words there's no kill line.

I recognize this scenery... it's Skydive Georgia!

@Catapultandclingfilm I just never want to get my hand (possibly with altimeter as a snag hazard) anywhere near their lines

im no AFFI, but howcome you say option C is not a good idea?....so long as the option results in the bag being away from the container and the stows being pulled open, isnt that what you want..
ive seen option c being used before., just wondered why you say no option C?
This comment has received too many negative votes show
if he would have done a proper gear check this could have been prevented...gotta cock that pilot chute

@mjh120 Actually, you'll notice the PC is fully inflated. Issue in this case the container was not a great fit for the dbag.

Haha, I forgot to do my PRCP on my first jump too.
Question: at 0:30...FlyingMantis, what was that? The signal to pull?? Why?
